For over 22 years, we have been providing Seattle area dance instruction to communities throughout the Puget Sound area for partners and singles.

At The Rockin’ Horse Dance Barn, we offer a friendly, non-competitive environment on our 4,000-square-foot hardwood dance floor. You never need to bring a partner for our dance classes in Renton. Our adult dance classes are open to individuals and couples 18 and over, while our teen dance classes are open to teens age 13 to 19.

Whether you take part in our Seattle salsa dance classes or Seattle country Western dance lessons, fun is a key component in our teaching. Our instructors love to dance and impart their knowledge of various styles to their students.

We offer a wide range of dance instruction options, including private, semi-private and group classes. Also, be sure to check out our Friday and Saturday night dances for our students, friends and anyone that loves to dance.

I've been going to the Rockin' Horse for many years now. I've been taking dance classes for as many years, mostly at the Rockin' Horse. I've taken classes elsewhere but always end back up at the Rockin' Horse. There are many dance studios close to where I live and I've tried most of them. I still drive over 30 min each direction to take classes from Dave and Janette at the Rockin' Horse. They are simply the best.

Ive been dancing with Dave for 19 years. Line dancing is fun, good exersise & a great way to meet people. Ive learned the country two step, east coast swing, mixers & a variety of line dances. Sometimes his dances include potlucks, partys and even dance cruises. Great fun for couples and singles.

Dave Serfling is one of the clearest dance instructors I have had the pleasure of learning from. His low-key manner and humor makes learning a new skill less intimidating and a pleasure. He has an ability to intuitively know what and how you may be thinking at any given moment and is able to clarify and clear up any misunderstandings that may be occuring during the learning experience. If one method of teaching isn't working, he seamlessly adapts his method to one that does. Dave is incredibly patient and accepting of all abilities, and always provides encouragement.

The Barn is a wonderful place to dance! Dave is a super great dance instructor and DJ! We have had lots of fun dancing at the Barn and have truly enjoyed his dance classes! There is no smoking or drinking which adds to the enjoyment of the place. You go there to just dance and have fun and meet wonderful people.

Question and answer

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love watching students that come to learn to dance with no experience and very apprehensive. After only a few lessons they become much more confident and start having fun, meeting new friends and finding a brand new social life.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I have danced since I was a teenager. After learning to dance a few steps of Foxtrot and Jitterbug I realized I loved dancing and wanted to help others learn how to dance.
