Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. I specialize in wedding and portrait images. My experience and training elevate my work to a level most photographers cannot match at this price range. Each year I attend a week long photography school to keep my style and performance at the peak. Studying with the top professional photographers in the industry gives me an advantage when I do this work.
Q. Describe three recent jobs you've completed.
A. I photograph approximately 20 weddings each year. The last one was at Roach Harbor on San Juan Island. We spent the day capturing the beauty of the day along with the beauty of the island. The groom is a fireman there and the department honored him by wisking the couple away in a fire truck. Later we captured the bride and groom against the fire of that evenings sunset.
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Interview a prospective photographer carefully. Many have little experience, no backup equipment, and no help. You need to know you get along with the photographers personality. There is much more to choosing a wedding photographer than just seeing their pictures. Learn how long it will take to see your images. Many new photographers take a large number of pictures but take a very long time getting them posted.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. I would wish to know what it takes to capture everything that happens and everything that should happen at a wedding. Experience means learning how a wedding flows, what do most people want in their pictures, and how to capture those pictures without taking a lot of time.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. I would ask how a normal wedding flows and how does the photographer capture everything that happens.
I would want to know his/her work flow on a wedding day.
I would want to know how many years experience he/she has in wedding photography.
I would want to know what kind of equipment they use and if they have backup for everything.
I would want to know what kind of guarantee they offer.
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. A buyer should know how much they are comfortable spending before talking to any photographer.
They should know what style photography they are looking for.
They should know how much time and effort they are willing to give so they can receive the best the photographer has to offer.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. Making my work stand apart from your average photographer takes a lot of work, study, and practice. I attend a professional school every year to keep my work at the top of the profession. I then take this learning and apply it to each and every job I take on. With years of education and experience my clients are assured of great photographs each and every time.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. I love photographing weddings. My experience gives me the ability to be calm during the chaos of a wedding day. This helps to keep everyone calm and on track during this most stressful day. I do love capturing the days events with my camera thereby saving the memories for the bride and groom's future.
