FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I charge a flat or fixed per case. Because each case varies in facts and complexity, there is no typical fee. When a person hires me, the fee will be outlined in the fee agreement and the person will know exactly how much the legal services will be for that case. I will always work with people to negotiate a payment plan if necessary.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

The Washington State Bar Association requires attorneys to stay up to date on the law and the various changes in the law. We are required to take continuing legal education units every year. Because I specialize in criminal law, all the continuing education units that I take are in criminal law only. Additionally, I receive updates from Washington State courts on a daily basis so that I can become aware of any changes in the law as soon as they are made.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

When a person is being investigated for a crime or has been charged with a crime, they should seek the advice of an attorney as soon as possible. People should not make statements to law enforcement without an attorney present. At the very least, the person should request to speak to an attorney prior to answering any questions or making any statements.
