I teach beginning to advanced drum lessons at a palatable price. I teach out of my home in Seattle. I am primarily a jazz player, but I have played and teach rock, hip hop, afro-cuban, brazilian, reggae, soul, avant-garde, and concert/marching percussion as well.

I've performed all over the US, including performances in New York at Lincoln Center, Boston, Washington DC, Reno, Nevada, Moscow, Idaho, Mt. Hood, Oregon, and many venues in Washington State. I've also performed at the Umbria Jazz Festival in Perugia, Italy, and have played concerts in other parts of Italy, Croatia, and Austria. I am in the process of achieving a performance degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. I can teach what I've learned from the best of the best. I'm most experienced playing jazz out of all the genres that I play, and can share ideas, tips, concepts, techniques, and stories that have been passed down to me from everyone from Ralph Peterson, Jr. to Poncho Sanchez to Rashied Ali, with too many to name in between, as well as everything I've come up with on my own. And that's all just from a drumming perspective- I've had the opportunity to spend time with some of the masters on many different instruments as well.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. If I was looking for a drum teacher, regardless of my playing ability, I would ask myself these three questions:

1) What kind of playing/professional experience does this drummer have?
2) What styles does he/she specialize in?
3) How much does he/she charge?

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. As a current student at Berklee College of Music, I'm constantly surrounded by some of the best musicians (of all sorts) in the world, both students and visiting artists. In addition, I'm surrounded and well-versed in the most up-to-date music technology (computer programs, gadgets, recording software, etc)
