Once the project began, additional ducting and materials were required to properly complete the installation. We communicated this to you, and you agreed to the updated total of $480 before we went to purchase the extra materials. While painting was never part of our original agreement, we were going to paint as a courtesy to ensure the job looked seamless and to avoid any confusion. We also allowed partial payment until we came back the next day to finish. However, on Sunday night, you texted us saying we didn’t need to come back to paint and then tried to pay a lower amount only $290. An amount that you felt was “fair,” despite the prior agreement which was not acceptable given the amount of work completed. In the end, you only paid $412—less than the agreed total of $480—after we stood by our pricing. We understand this caused frustration, but we believe it’s fair to be compensated for both labor and materials that were approved before the work began. We strive for professionalism and clear communication.
