- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I decided to get into this line of work because I discovered a niche for a woman to perform home repairs in a male-dominated field. Women are typically the ones that schedule to have the work done whether it is the wife or a single woman homeowner and are at home when the worker arrives. There is a sense of trust and peace of mind knowing the work is being done by a woman instead of a strange man.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We recently completed a bathroom remodel for a customer that has a home staging business. She works closely with contractors and designers making ready other people's home for sale. She also has a radio program that focuses on home design and staging which I appear on on a monthly basis to discuss home maintenance. Taking on her bathroom was a little intimidating considering the public exposure and our relationship on the radio. If thing didn't work out it could be disastrous. My team did their typical excellent quality work and the bathroom turned out beautifully. The customer was ecstatic and let her entire radio audience know how pleased she was with the outcome and the professionalism of my team.
