Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I am a Washington state-licensed home inspector, license #341. I have been working as a home inspector since 2003. When you hire me, I will perform a detailed inspection of all of the systems and components in your home and provide a detailed written report to you of any problems. I provide very detailed descriptions without any contractor jargon, along with digital photographs and recommendations for how to correct the problem. I am also licensed as a structural pest inspector, which not all home inspectors are. This gives me the ability to inspect for termites, carpenter ants, wood-boring beetles and other wood-destroying organism. I perform inspections between Everett and Tacoma, but will go farther, depending on the situation. I inspect condominium units, mobile homes, townhouses, houses, and multifamily housing. I also perform new construction inspections. Established in 2003, Lasswell Home Inspection LLC was founded by me, John Lasswell, and I have been working full-time as a home inspector ever since. In 2005, I trained as a FEMA disaster inspector and maintain that certification and am prepared to deploy, should a major disaster strike the Pacific Northwest. In 2010, I became licensed with the EPA as a certified repair remodeling and painting instructor and now teach certification classes for contractors to work with lead-based paints in pre-1978 housing. I am currently teaching 1 to 2 classes per month.

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

If you are buying an existing home in Washington State make sure your home inspection is also licensed as a Structural Pest Inspection. Without this license they can't inspect for termites, carpenter ants or other wood destroying insects. Only about half of the home inspectors in Washington are also licensed Structural Pest Inspector.
