I came to Luata Bray feeling that my body was hardening into a concrete casing of pain. Though I'm only 52, I'd had joint problems for decades that resulted in a hip replacement in 2007. Now the other hip was degenerating in the same way. Even my orthopedic surgeon did not know the cause. When I started having deep muscle and soft tissue pain (to the point of not being able to sleep), I knew I had to act on a co-worker's recommendation to see Luata Bray. Luata started with the most thorough, systematic examination of my body structure that I've ever had, at the end of which she told me exactly why my hip joints had worn out at such an early age and what I needed to do to halt the destruction. In the eight months since, Luata has literally put me back on my feet. It dawned on me one day that this was how I remembered feeling when I was 12. She has unknotted so many painful snarled muscles in my body that I find I'm discovering a whole different side to my personality--laughing, relaxed, buoyant, ready for challenges. As Luata says, it is a journey. But it is one that she takes with you, supporting you with her strength, her thorough knowledge of the human body, quirky sense of humor, and, above all, her otherworldly skill with her hands. I could go on. But instead of reading more, you should make an appointment.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Injury treatment from Chronic conditions, hip and knee injuries or replacements, TMJ, headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, disk problems, neck and back pain, foot pain, leg pain, arm pain, pregnancy massage, spasm pain, decrease range of motion difficulties, .... I see everybody.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. I am usually booked up to a month in advance. Go onto my site and click on the icon in black "waiting list" and add your name and the days and times you are available. Also, book ahead.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Experience. I've seen a wide range of people through out the years and with many difficult medical/orthopedic issues, rehabilitation challenges from auto/on the job injuries, sports injuries, emotional issues, etc.

I have a private practice and I work full time and I hope to continue for many years to come.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. The constant opportunity to be challenged and the constant desire to study. I am always having to be "on my toes" in today's world to understand all the different kinds of new work related injuries caused by activities like "desk jobs" for example.

I love people and I love helping people move around better and feel relief from pain. I get a big kick out of helping someone feel so much better than when they first walked into my door.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. How many sessions will it take before I am at 100%?

My answer is always, "Well it depends and it took you a long time to get this way, so I don't really know". Or if they've been in a motor vehicle collision and ask this question: "I don't really know".
