Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Look for "fit" - someone who feels right to you. Therapy with a therapist who doesn't connect to you is frustrating, and doesn't work very well.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. I think I am pretty "real world" when it comes to counseling. I've worked in the corporate world, am married, and am a father. I try to keep things as grounded in practicality as possible.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. When I see someone break through where they have been stuck - either getting out of something bad (depression, anxiety) or getting something they've wanted for a long time (a new job, a relationship).
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. I do continuing education each year (for my licensure), get my own counseling (to continue to learn from that side of the couch), and learn in my marriage and as a parent all the time.
