I specialize in teaching the Russian method of playing violin and viola. There is an extreme focus on correct posture and the most comfortable positions for playing. Playing the violin is very complex and to have good posture is crucial.
Lessons include learning about music theory. After a couple of months, I like to put students into chamber music groups (they like this a lot).
I put a lot of emphasis on sight reading as it is the most important skill in any instrument playing. Either as an adult or a child, learning to play an instrument is a great gift of knowledge.
