This yoga class was the best I've ever experienced! Sandy was an extremely knowledgable teacher having previously had a successful teaching career in Seattle. I appreciated her flexible attitude and ability to meet me at my ability level. I left the session feeling deeply settled, relaxed yet energized. I would recommend her to anyone!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Group classes are given in Studios either in Kihei or Wailuku. These prices are set by the studios and vary depending on the package purchased. The noontime class at Body Alive is by donation. $59/session for classes where you provide the venue & I travel to you. These sessions can have up to 5 people for the same cost. More than 5 students will increase the class cost. $35/class for a Private class at my venue.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

In the classes I teach, I assess students individually to ensure they receive the maximum value from postures and from the time between postures. Students are encouraged to stay focused on their own experience -– their body, thoughts and the moments of quiet that descent into their awareness. Together we initiate ‘yoga space through sounding ‘OM’; being in a group amplifies our intentions for the yoga class. In private classes I am able to address individual needs move completely. Using therapeutic techniques, sessions are designed to help the student to heal if that is their need. If their goal is to participate in group classes I help them determine what to do to honor their individuality. I also teach private classes for people who just prefer that type of setting.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

When you’re looking for a yoga teacher, it is helpful to be clear about what you want. There are many types of yoga on the market, all with slightly or even vastly different goals. What you wanted when you were 30 is likely to be different than when you’re 60 – but not necessarily. My advice is to try different styles before you commit to one, or if you’re already clear about what would best serve you, go to a class in that style and see if you resonate with the teacher – teachers vary too. Whatever class you chose, look for someone who is knowledgeable enough to keep students from being hurt – like any form of exercise, if it’s not done correctly injuries can occur. Honor your instincts as you evaluate – if you don’t feel that you’re with the right teacher, you’re probably correct even if you don’t have words to tell you why.
