Yoga, meaning 'union', is the science of harmonizing our bodies, minds, hearts, and spirits toward optimal health and inner knowing.
With this in mind, I offer customized yoga classes that meet every practitioner's need, wherever they are on a given day.
Feeling tired and groggy? Let's get your body moving with an invigorating Vinyasa flow.
Muscles tight and sore? I'll draw on Yin yoga postures to open your hips and joints.
Mentally drained and overwhelmed? Let's open our practice with a mindfulness meditation, and setting of intention.
After a decade of personal yoga practice and yoga alliance certification, I have been exposed to a balanced variety of eastern and western traditions.
In addition to integrating wisdom from Iyengar, Vinyasa, Power, Kundalini, as well as classical yoga, I also work on the more subtle, non-physical aspects of yoga.
These are meant to engender self-awareness, learning and unraveling from the inside out.
Inner peace is here. Now, let's claim it together!
A. I do not limit myself to any one particular belief system, teaching style, or yoga tradition. I am all about thinking outside the box, being guided by intuition, and encouraging others to do the same!
A. The opportunity to share with people a practice that helps them connect with their bodies and engender feelings of love and peace that ultimately benefit them and everyone they encounter.
A. Students often ask if they need to have experience with yoga to practice with me or come to a class. The answer is definitely no! We all have to start somewhere but people are often amazed by how quickly they can learn and the feeling of empowerment that comes from facing a new challenge. Besides, the benefits that come from yoga are so worth it.
Another question I hear is about injuries that practitioners bring to the mat, often in their knees, backs, or wrists. This is also no cause for abandoning a yoga practice! We can use modifications and specific poses that work around your injury while still giving you a powerful practice.
