Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. I would suggest making an appointment to tour at least three different kennels to check them out. There are a lot of different types of kennels - from traditional to non-traditional. This will also allow you to get some questions answered that you may not have thought of before you board your dog.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We are a very unique, non-traditional kennel. All dogs stay inside kennels that are located in the comfort of our home. The dogs are let out 6 times/day to play in cedar-chipped yards. Small dogs are kept separate from big dogs.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love having the opportunity to meet so many different dogs and their people. It is so much fun to be able to watch the dogs play with each other and enjoy their own doggie vacation.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I wish customer's would understand that it is not about playing with dogs all day. (Boy - that would be fun!) It is hard work and a lot of time is spent just cleaning up after the dogs. We dedicate our lives to this profession. I have only had 5 days off in over 3 years and am only able to leave the house for a couple hours at a time.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. My passion for dogs started when I was a small child. In fact - I did not even play with dolls - I played with dogs! I would spend hours on the playground and in my neighborhood just watching the stray dogs interact with each other. I am very good at reading their body language because of this.
