- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My stipend is determined during negotiation with the client. Factors taken into consideration are the time required to prepare a ceremony, whether a rehearsal is needed, and distance. For example, a wedding in Ashford would include a charge of $50 for transportation. For my most recent wedding in Ashford, I created the entire ceremony for a Native/Celtic blended wedding which required many email consultations and the charge came to $275.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet at a coffee shop or other neutral place and get to know the couple and learn a little about their background. We then discuss the ceremony as they envision it, or talk about elements they wish to include. I then explain my thoughts and intentions and why I believe they will find that I'm a "good fit." I try to stay in contact with both bride and groom (if possible) throughout the planning as the wedding approaches.
