Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. Broken Springs and opener issues. Most people do not know how to properly maintain their garage doors! So, the spring will break without warning- usually making the garage door so heavy that you cannot lift it!
A heavy garage door can destroy a garage door opener. Almost all of the opener problems are caused by the garage door hardware being old and not working!
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Check around! Make sure that you get more than one bid! Sometimes, however, time is an issue- if your car is stuck in the garage, you may not have the time to check around.
We recommend checking the balance of your garage door 1-2 times per year. This will tell you how well your springs are counter-balancing the weight of your garage door. If the door is heavy, you want to start planning you repairs!
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. I would definitely say that checking the balance on your garage door is THE MOST IMPORTANT maintenance procedure you could do for your door once a year. No one really knows how, or that they should, do this very easy check! We have a video up on SpokaneGarageRepair.com under the "Tips and Tricks" page that will show you how to do this and save your opener's life!
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. We offer the most competitive prices, including a lifetime warranty package that is hundreds of dollars LESS than our competitors. We also stress Customer service! We want to be the last company you ever have to call regarding your garage door and opener!
We also offer free education! If you have an easy fix, let us help you over the phone, or by E-mail... also, check out our Tips and Tricks page for How-To videos!
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. I love helping people with their garage door issues! I believe in educating the customer on how their system works, before giving them as many options as I can! There is usually a good, better, best fix for any garage door situation! Then, let the customer decide which is best for them..
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. How much will it cost? This is a difficult question to answer over the phone. It's like having a funny noise in you car's engine- and asking the mechanic to give you a quote over the phone! Not easy to do.
However, we will give you all of your options, and then fix the problem as you request. We will never pressure you into spending more money than you want!
Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?
A. One time I showed up to a customer's house because her door had "crashed".. which means that her door was half-way open and half of her rollers were out, causing half of her door to fall over! This happens sometimes and is very dangerous to work on.. and her entire garage was stuffed full of boxes! I said, "Ma'am, I think we are going to have to move some of these boxes, so that I can safely work on this garage door..". And she replied, "Really? I though you could just.. maybe crawl on top of them. Instead of using your ladder?" I to myself for most of the time I spent helping her move boxes..
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. I wish everyone knew that my job is to educate them on how their garage door works. I consider it an insult to be referred to as a salesman.. we are technicians! I love talking about garage doors and hope the homeowner feels comfortable asking questions. I want to provide enough information in order for them to make an educated decision.. then fix what they want to fix!
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. I love customer service and solving puzzles.. with garage door repair, I get both! Every day presents new challenges and walking away from a job well done and a happy customer is very satisfying for me.
Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.
A. We get many great reviews, due to unrelenting pursuit of customer satisfaction. Our phones are always on and we will always return a phone call. We especially take pride in being able to work with property managers and homeowners that live out of the area and need someone local to take care of their property or tenants.
