A. There's more to being a Wedding Officiant than just showing up 10 minutes before the ceremony and reading a boiler plate ceremony. The Officiant should be an expert on how the ceremony is planned and implemented. Because of this expertise, the Officiant should assist you at the rehearsal and the day of the ceremony to ensure that your ceremony will come off flawlessly. In addition, the Officiant should be open to allowing for customization of the ceremony, the inclusion of friends or family members in parts of the ceremony and any other touches that make the ceremony unique to the two of you.
A. Many ministers are just that, ministers. They have a church and congregation to care for and may not perform that many weddings during the year. This is because most churches have a limited number of parishioners who would be getting married at any one time. As Wedding Ministers/Officiants, we specialize in just weddings. We do dozens in a single year. We learn from every one and even incorporate ideas we get from some of them into our ceremonies and services.
A. Know from the start that the minister you've contacted is willing to follow through and perform your ceremony! Ask if your life style is a factor in working with you. Some ministers will not marry couples who live together, have a child together, or who have been married before. Don't chance being dropped at the last minute because the minister doesn't approve of something you're doing (and this does happen, more often than it should)!
A. Couples should have some idea of what they want to have in their ceremony. Our web site describes our wedding packages and what is included in the ceremonies. This can be helpful for couples in planning their ceremony and may provide them with ideas they hadn't thought about.
A. A wedding is such a happy event and we LOVE working with our Brides and Grooms! We love the energy and excitement surrounding this special day. We feel it's a real honor to be a part of one of the most important days of their lives.
