My name is Alisa Poul, and I am currently accepting new piano students starting at preschool up to adult. I am pleased to offer:

* Private piano lessons - my home/possibly yours
* All ages/levels
* Flexible scheduling
* 30-min, 45-min and 1-hour lessons
* Price varies depending on time frame, location and sibling discounts
* Custom curriculum based on the needs and desires of the student
* Most importantly, a fun and motivating learning environment

Currently, I am a music director, chorale pianist, and special event pianist. I have more than 20 years of experience which include:

* Piano Theory
* Technique
* Music History
* Improvisation
* Jazz
* Classical
* Composition
* Performance

I enjoy teaching all levels of pianists. My youngest being 4 and the oldest—I probably should not say; I may get in trouble!

The key to my success with my students is understanding what each of my students need on an individual basis. When one truly understands their students, music is enjoyable, fun and something you cannot get enough of!

Question and answer

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. When a new student comes to me, I take the time to get to know them and develop a custom curriculum program that will cater to their strengths and improve their weaknesses. By doing so, my students find that piano is fun, enjoyable and they can see how much they have progressed at each lesson.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. The one thing that I love most about giving piano lessons is to see the progress of my students and know that it is because of my teaching methods that my students are doing so well. It is a wonderful gift to be able to pass on the music/piano knowledge I have gained over the last 20 & some odd years to others.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. 2 things, 1) The most common question I get is 'what are my rates?' And, my answer is unfortunately somewhat vague because there are multiple variables that determine cost. I offer lessons in different time frames, I give discounts for multiple siblings that take lessons and if I have to travel, I add an additional travel charge depending on distance. With all that said, my rates always fall between $15-$35.

2) The next most common question I get is 'what time frame should my child start with?' And, my answer again is somewhat vague because all children are different and it really depends on your child - how old are they? do they have a good attention span? etc. I will also ask some other specific questions to help me determine what time frame would be best. Believe it or not, there are qualities in people that can predict how well one will do with piano.
