For over a decade, I've been creating custom coaching, ritual, or re-membering sessions for clients. We work together to make sure you get the most out of our time and collaboration.
Options include: coaching, Reiki, creativity prompting, grief support, guided visualization type meditation. While my client base has varied, from those grieving after loss of job, to parents struggling after the death of a child, my own personal experience of the deaths of our two sons has taught me that there is no single prescription for grief. I can help you find your own way!
You can work with me regardless of your geographic location: via Skype or phone. You can also do self-paced home workshops if you'd rather do self exploration at first.
One of my recent clients wrote to me after our six weeks of work to say, "Coach Kara, you gave me the tools that I needed. Our sessions were invaluable, and the meditations / visualizations were extraordinary. I can't thank you enough Kara."
Get in touch with me today to create your custom care!
Please note, I can work with you over distances doing guided visualizations, but I do not offer silent meditation practice as a virtual service. Hope that makes sense. If you have questions, please feel free to write and ask me!

Having just completed the HeART coaching with the distance Reiki, I can tell you that this was the best purchase I made for myself. Kara helped me to refocus my energy and weed out the junk that was creating obstacles to my healing and put me on a path that will help me to help myself through a very difficult illness. Coach Kara gave me the tools that I needed. Our sessions were invaluable, and the meditations/visualizations were extraordinary. Every time Kara does the Reiki long distance for me, I am amazed at the energy I can feel across the miles. She was able to focus on my problem areas , send heat or cooling to them and help me with the pain. It was incredible. Thank you Kara for all you do!

Question and answer
Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. Grief & Creativity Sessions, Reiki Session, Guided Visualization Sessions, Ritual & Re-Member-ing Sessions like doing henna body art.
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. This work is so intimate and personal, you need to find a provider who is a right fit for you. I am most interested in connecting with people to see if my work is a right fit for them. I can be a guide and mentor, and help you be the leader in finding your own unique way thru grief and learning to live again. And if we discover we are not a right fit, I'm honored to give you ideas for moving forward to explore with others, too.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. This is no single, one prescription or method that can be applied to everyone who grieves. It takes time and actually feeling the pain and loss to integrate the new reality of life without the one you loved being physically present. Creativity is your best ally because what works for you may not work for others; what worked for others may not work for you. The experience of death and grief is personal -- and the learning to live in the face of death and grief is personal, too!
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. Having survived the death of two sons now, I bring a personal experience to the table in our grief & creativity work. When you tell me you can't get out of bed, I understand and won't automatically send you to the anti-depressants. When you say you are a different person all the way down to your cells, I get it. I can help you find your own way without prescribing any particular "right way" on this path!
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. There is absolutely nothing meaningless about my work. Every connection is heART-Full and helpful. And every single day is different and unique because every single client is different and unique. I love helping people find their own way!
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. They ask, "How can I possibly live again, now that my child has died?" I answer, "One moment at a time, you find out what it means to be alive in the face of grief and death. There are models and ideas and tools out here you can try -- that others have tried before you -- but all of it will be an experiment. And one moment at a time, you will find your own unique mix of how's and why's and reasons to live and love in the full face of mortality and loss."
Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?
A. Learn all there is to learn and then chuck it all out the window. Forget your protocols and manuals. BE PRESENT with the bereaved person right in front of you and see what they need now. Bring your skills and experience to the present moment, but stop prescribing how the moment should go for the bereaved. You don't have the answers. Your clients have the answers. You are just helping them uncover what they already know!
