I was nervous. She was so much fun and relaxing to work with. I really appreciate her time and patience to give me the best photo. I also appreciated all of her professional info in obtaining the look I wanted for the photo.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Pricing for photography work is complicated. This is because there no way to find a package that means everyone's tastes and desires. Some people love albums, others like wall prints. The DIY folks like to have the digital negatives so they can create their own products. That is why I have a session fee that covers part of my time and then charge based on the type of products a client selects. I custom create my products to my clients tastes as well as have collections that are a combination of products that give the client a price break. I am there at the time of viewing your photos to help clients make these decisions and choose what's best for them. Ultimately I want my clients to have products that they are happy with and can enjoy in their homes.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

Being a photographer was always a career choice for me. When I was in art school majoring in design I was took a photo class and have been hooked ever since. When I graduated I wanted to find a way to combine my design skills with my photography work and finally having my own business allows me to be able to have control on both those aspects and I love that I am able to do this everyday. Having kids now makes this even cooler as they recognize that being a photographer is a job and see how hard I work and the pride I take in it.
