Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. We provide several medical education courses, including CPR, AED training, First Aid training, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and more.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Look at price (ours is only $40/person for CPR), but also experience. Has your CPR instructor actually done CPR before? Do they know how or why it works? All of our instructors have actually successfully used CPR and have specific pointers based on our experience.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. You may sign up for classes as an individual on our website, so we will travel to you if you have a group. We need a minimum of 5 people. We have done classes for families at homes, businesses, schools, and health facilities. We will gladly travel to you for no additional cost.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Our American Heart Association CPR training is designed to give you the knowledge and confidence to actually do CPR in an emergency situation. We offer a non-intimidating environment to facilitate learning.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I enjoy the "light bulb coming on." Many people have taken CPR training before--just to go through the motions and get recertified. My goal is to get you thinking about why we do CPR, how it works, how we can do it better, and how we can make a difference and save lives.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Customers want to know--why is our class only 4 hours? We keep our class sizes small (around 12) to facilitate quicker courses, but still allow for a non-intimidating setting so questions can be asked and answered. We do still cover all required course information.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. We get emails and telephone calls every week from people who have successfully used CPR or first aid. Every single story is a testament to how well this training prepares people for real emergencies, whether you have been in health care for years or it is your first CPR class.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. We are here to answer your questions. Our organization does not preach or intimidate. It is our responsibility to prepare you. If you have had a poor experience with a CPR course before, try APHE. Our approach will make you more comfortable.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. My wife Nicole and I are paramedics. We worked for a company that was offering training, but we felt they were substandard. We decided to start our own training organization and provide a higher level of training.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Our instructors are recertified by the American Heart Association every two years. We also are all subscribed to Currents, a publication with the newest available research in resuscitation.
