Craig is an amazing teacher that inspires children of all ages. He has a comfortable teaching style that focuses on the individual child's needs whether in a group lesson or in a private lesson. He share's his gift and passion in a way that makes my children "want" to go to practice to see "what's next". He works with our children and encourages them to reach beyond. His performance concerts are the best! Our kids look like rock stars on stage and feel like they too can be their best. Awesome job Craig!

My daughter switched from her previous guitar teacher to Craig last year. She has learned more in the past year from Craig than all the years combined with other teacher. Phenomenal teacher, fantastic guitar player and an incredible person!

My daughter has been receiving guitar lessons from Craig for about 9 months now. Not only does she love his classes, she is accelerating in skill level very quickly. He makes it fun! We both would recommend him to anyone.

My son as been taking electric guitar lessons from Craig for 6 yrs, never gets tired of it. Craig gives him the opportunity to pick what songs he wants to learn which really helps motivate him. Craig knows how to connect with kids and make lessons fun. His schedule is flexible and he understands when life gets in the way! My son has made immense progress over the years, we give Craig all the credit for that.

My son, Connor, is Craig's student. I love Craig's enthusiasm toward teaching and music. He keeps learning fun and different for the kids using computer technology and music they recognize. When my son is home I hear him practicing on his own! I like that!

My daughter has only had a few lessons but has already come so far! She's so enthusiastic about learning the guitar.

  • 4/5 stars August 16, 2014

Craig is great! I am probably 25 years his senior and he hit the right level for me and gave me some great tools to go forward with. Craig has been a big influence on my improvements with guitar. Thanks Craig!

Craig uses a variety of methods to inspire students to learn. He has them make recordings, he uses group lessons, he lets them vote on music to learn. My daughter has really enjoyed his classes.

Craig has been my son's teacher for 3 years. He is a finamanal teacher and I would recommend him to anyone and everyone.

There is so much I can say about Craig. He was my guitar instructor for 4 years, and was a huge help in getting me to be the guitar player I am today. There was never a dull moment with him. He could always make you laugh which made coming to class that much more enjoyable. If it wasn't for Craig I wouldn't have as much love and passion for the guitar that I do. The way he goes about teaching you is nothing but professional. Whether it is learning new scales, songs, music theory, etc he knows how to get it done. I could not thank Craig enough for teaching how to play. He is my biggest inspiration in music and I will never forgot that. I would recommend him to anyone looking to learn guitar. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. He's the best!

Not very favorable. Driving an hour to watch videos in class was a waste of my time and money. If the videos were watched as homework and then discussed or reviewed in class, that would be acceptable. Being in a group class with 12 - 14 year old students is challenging. As a 40 year old adult with lots of musical experience spending time in class for Craig to simply control the kids was a not a good use of time. A little of this is understood, but it seemed like we spent more time on this than was expected. I did not spend more than 1-2 months in lessons. The homework assignments were fine as well as the recorded examples for the homework.

Craig F. from Wisconsin Guitar Academy replied to this review on August 18, 2014:

I take responsibility for this. From the start Justin should have been placed in private lessons (30 minutes). But, because of his long drive I allowed him to take group lessons (60 minutes) as he saw more value in that. It was the wrong decision.

I can't say enough about Craig's teaching ability, professionalism and dedication. He has always been patient and motivating, even when my son has struggled with learning and behavioral issues. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for an excellent guitar teacher!

Craig is an awesome guy! He was my guitar teacher for several years, and I can honestly say I owe Craig everything when it comes to the techniques and knowledge I learned about playing the guitar, and guitar theory. Craig's lessons were both fun, and informative. I am blessed to say that I can also call Craig my friend. Thanks for all the fun, and I surely miss all of our jam sessions Iceman!

Craig has been an excellent instructor to my son. My son has been taking lessons now for about 2 years and I feel the challenge and instructional level have been of the highest standard. He is always willing to work on rescheduling lesson times when needed and my son leaves his lesson every single feeling valued, acknowledged, and excited for the next week. We are blessed to know and have Craig for a guitar instructor.

I took lesson a from Craig and he made learn enjoyable and I would highly recommend him, whether you are young or old, if you want to learn how to play.

I had the pleasure of taking beginning guitar lessons with Craig for a number of years. I've become an intermediate level player and feel I learned the fundamentals of chording, guitar theory, soloing, and even a little bit about composing music with the guitar. Craig had formal training in classical guitar and plays regularly with Mt. Olive Band, so he can teach multiple styles. He connects with his students by giving them choices of songs and opportunities to perform in recitals. It's also very neat that you can choose an hour group lesson or half hour private lesson. Highly recommend.

Craig was awesome at teaching my boy how to play guitar. He had the patience when it was needed and was always on time and was great at communicating with me when things were moving along or changing with the lessons. Thanks Craig!

After taking piano lessons for several years, our daughter really wanted to learn play guitar. She began guitar lessons with another instructor however her enthusiasm to play guitar quickly dwindled and we soon had to push her to practice at home. We were looking for a more dynamic approach to guitar lessons and took her to a free trial guitar lesson offered by Craig Friemoth at Wisconsin Guitar Academy. Craig took the time to explain a great deal about learning how to play guitar and also about its history. Craig, an accomplished guitar player himself, interacts effectively with his students and his diverse fast paced lessons continue to stimulate our daughter’s interest in playing guitar. We couldn’t be more pleased with the results our 11 year old daughter has achieved with Craig’s guidance and encouragement.

My daughter who is 13, has been going to craig for almost a year now and really loves it. Im very impressed with the skills she has been taught in such a short time. She's learning and having fun. Craig holds a talent concert for his students witch also teaches them stage presence. I believe at there age and really any age this is just as important. Anyone looking to start or advance there skills should definitely give him a try. You'll be just as impressed with him as I am.

Craig is an exceptional guitarist & instructor!! He brings a wealth of knowledge to the classroom setting. His instruction motivates his students to want to excel and continue on playing!
Our son has taken lessons from Craig and we could not get over how motivated and excited he was to play after each class! It's refreshing to see a teacher so passionate and dedicated to his students!!

Craig is an extremely gifted musician and teacher. If you're looking to learn guitar or have your child learn guitar, there's no better choice than WGA. His methods are extremely motivating and based on sound musical and educational theory.

Craig using technology in his lesson that engaged the students all week. Weekly recordings are shared with family outside of class. His yearly concerts for students is beyond amazing. The kids feel like real rock stars. Highly recommend him for him boys and girls.

My son has been taking guitar lessons for about a year. Recently we went to a free 1st lesson with Craig at Wisconsin Guitar Academy. My son loved it! He now has two guitar teaches :) My son says both are so different but does not want to make a choice so two teachers it is! Thanks Craig for keeping him motivated

  • 5/5 stars August 12, 2014

Craig's guitar lessons are fun and creative. The lessons are different every week and I get to learn about recording, too. I feel like I've become a better guitar player since starting lessons with Craig.

  • 5/5 stars August 12, 2014

Craig is awesome. I've taken lessons from him for over 10 years. He really makes learning the guitar fun. Craig has lots of experience in guitar theory, and years on stage. From beginner to more advanced, and from home recording to melting faces on stage, Craig has you covered!
