Question and answer
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. A common question in my industry is why does a website cost so much? Well there are a lot of factors that can go into a website. It's true you can buy software or a template service, put your content in about your business and publish it and then you'd have a website. But does that really meet your potential customer's needs? If I am looking for a local plumber or electrician I may just go with the first couple of listings off the Google directory, but I want somebody that I can trust to come into my house and to be able to commit to a long-term business relationship in case I need you again. Is everything in your listing or website going to sell me on that? The point is with the changes that have occurred in the last few years with the Internet the modern consumer has changed. They are not only looking for the "brochure" information on your website, but they are looking to be engaged by you.
This is where you as a business owner need to recognize that your website should not just be another cookie-cutter layout. You need to approach your website as a vital lifeline tool for your company, something that can handle not only the story of your company by maintaining your brand, but also your customer service inquiries, frequently asked questions, product or service announcements, success stories and perhaps even selling your services or products online. You want your website to work for you 24/7. This won't happen if you approach your website with a simple one-to-two page website that just has static "newspaper" content.
Why a website costs so much comes down to a professional service that is dynamic and ever changing. Your website is an investment for your company to make the first and best impression about you and your services or product. A lot of research and development goes into a strong and functional website.
