Mike Thole created a high quality video in celebration of an employee that was retiring. We were so pleased with the quality of the work and value. Mike is extremely creative, flexible and a true professional. If we have projects in the future he would clearly be the person we would call.

I really enjoyed working with Mike on my video project. Although I gave him limited time to complete the project, he exceeded my expectations with the final product. My company was very happy with video he created. I would highly recommend his services.

Mike was able to create a DVD (and several copies) of my dad's memorial service for family that weren't able to attend. He had suggestions that enhanced the finished product and I couldn't be more pleased with the final results. The service was exceptional and the cost was very resonable. I would highly recommend Mix My Clips.

Michael was GREAT!! He did such a professional and thorough job. He thought of everything. It was really fun to see the end result. The one he did of my house was excellent and the realtor and clients all loved it. It was especially fun for me to see the transitions right before my eyes. I think anyone who has a house for sale (especially in this crazy market) would benefit from this extra touch. It is so much better than the average photo tours realtors set up! Michael also did a video of my sons sports history and that was really fun too. It will be fun to add to and watch as he grows older. This is such a neat way to organize videos and pictures! Definitely the wave of the future for digital pictures! ~ Thanks Mike!

Question and answer

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Know what kind of sources they have and their working timeframe. Although an editor can make artistic decisions regarding raw film and photos, it's best if the client knows their sources and orders them as they expect them to appear.
It's also important to know what type of music you want on your production and to understand the legalities of using certain favorite songs.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. 1-Because we are an editing service and don't have the overhead of expensive cameras or time out on location, we keep costs down for our customers. Though we do offer recording services, it's not the focus of our business model.
2-Our capability to take your sources via upload (or through the mail) cuts down on the time investment for the customer. We're happy to plan your project with you via phone, fax or e-mail, whichever you prefer... face to face consultations are also available!
3-We adhere to current law regarding intellectual property rights (copyright law) regarding sync music. Many companies are willing to violate the law in this regard... thereby putting their own business at risk.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Seeing the final result... as a painter sits back and enjoys what he created on canvas, seeing what can be done with unused footage and photos is exciting. Put another way, it's not unlike taking the ingredients for a meal home from the store. While they can be enjoyed separately, they are truely memorable when mixed by the hands of a fine chef. I aspire to be that fine chef with your raw footage.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Can you do ________? And my answer is ALWAYS yes... because if I can't, I'll personally connect them with someone that I KNOW will do a great job on their project. I've done it many times. I don't believe being in business is about just about making a buck off of each person I meet, but I value developing a relationship with them which may pay off in future project considerations.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I've been in customer service in various forms througout my life... as a waiter, chauffeur, teacher and local ice cream man. I know how important it is that the client is satisfied and I won't rest, or expect full payment, until my client is satisfied!

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I've been doing video editing for 25 years "on the side" and teaching full time in an urban setting for 19 years. After accepting the early retirement package offered by SPPS in 2011, I've jumped into offering my video services full time!

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. I have done a number of trainings with those at the top of the videography field. It's important to stay on top of the latest techniques, not only in the "nuts and bolts" of editing, but in story telling and being a true film maker!
