A. Be careful when hiring blindly. Do some research, ask some questions, verify the technician or servicing company can actually perform the type of service you're requesting. Look around at prices, but don't always take the lowest bidder. Most techs who bid low are desperate for work because they've burned many bridges with incompetence.
Prior to the service professional coming to your residence, verify they have been background checked or are represented by a reliable and known company. When the service pro is onsite never give them additional money if requested, you should have worked out the details of the job and settled on a fair price prior to the visit.
A. There are a lot of internet resources and various forums that someone with a basic understanding can read and often fix their problem on their own. We will have such a forum open soon.
A. Always verify the servicer has a competent understanding of the general issue that you're dealing with. Always ask any other questions that would allow you to get a better feel of the provider and either feel at ease or know they're not the right choice.
