FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got started in the home improvement business when I was wrongfully terminated from my job after 4 years of devotion. I knew I longed for something more hands on since I'm such a high energy worker. I searched n searched for work with no luck and was about to loose everything I had worked so hard for. Then an old friend from school contacted me and said he was looking for help with a sheetrock job. I told him I didn't know anything about it but I needed the money badly and I promised him he wouldn't regret giving me a chance. I worked for his father for about 4 years before he moved to the coast to find more work. That's when I went into business for myself. I love my job and I love my customers!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with all types of customers.... Some have been on very tight budgets and some just seem to keep adding work. Both are fine by me.. I operate on a person to person policy. the way I see it is that everyone situation is different and everyone needs things to work out a little bit differently to help their situation. I've been known to change my contracts and payment policies to suit my customers needs. I have to admit though the best customer is always a returning customer!
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I am fond of nearly all of my projects. They all have their own hurdles to overcome and problems to solve. I like them because it always keeps me on my toes and keeps my mind working. My most recent preferred jobs have been rent / sale ready homes for realtors. They involve work that range from everything from the packing up property to the setting up props for showing the house to perspective owners. These types of jobs take on an average anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks. Depending on how much packing is involved.
