- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Standard trim package installations under 1789 Sq. Ft. @ 84¢/ sq.ft. Guaranteed 6 days completion! Discounts are negotiable.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? As the owner and operator of Rapid Interior Trim I'm building a portfolio as I grow my business and would like to incorporate that with customers ideas. Right off the bat I seek more information about the scope of work so I can provide a general cost for the project. Ethical Transparency is our top priority for our clients. Respect is earned and RiT wants to earn your Respect. Along with an initial proposal estimate which takes place upon Thumbtack here we schedule a specific meeting to become acquainted. This is where we get a Rough Estimate and drawl up a plan for calculating the numbers. This will be close to around actual cost for time and material. Once this building plan and estimate is established we are virtually able to make an order. So we can move further in negotiating a detailed contract for the desired project. Dependent upon the project the transparency is with in the detailed contract with which we could have feasibility to factor in or not our cost to operate the service, labor rate determined here at the quote, material (only if RiT supplied), delivery, (from yard to site-only if RiT delivered), supplies, and excise tax. We determine a labor schedule as I go over an estimate to complete the project. Sometimes things happen and work orders change. Haven’t had to do one yet. RiT enjoys going over every detail with customers. Most of the time if a scope of work is detailed enough our proposal is fairly close to the overall total. No hidden fees, fairly straight forward. Negotiating payment arrangements and dates usually done then as well. Could take anywhere from 24 hours upon first contact to 72 hours or more at client discretion. I prefer to have this all sorted out within a day or two and get things ordered to be able to start as soon as possible. Things very and can be drawn out. We will work together. We do negotiate a retainer as well. That is the process by which most trades contractors do business. Most companies make a killing and have hidden costs, sliders, and/or fees within their overhead. Which is difficult to determine until final invoice and even so. Business’s yearly expenses to operate are always undeterminable. Hidden fees We do not. Our overhead is predestined since being in the early stages of growth and that I do my own record keeping.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have 15 years construction/building experience working independently and with various prior employers or contractors. After realizing the craft I saw I had potential to grow from being just a sole proprietor. I had legitimately established my entity for business and This is my third year in business for myself doing custom work. I also have been aspiring to get into residential/commercial build licensing. Being that I have around 45 credits total in Alternative energy, sustainable systems, passive solar design, LEED, Math, supervising, management, accounting, environmental engineering technology, mapping, surveying, drafting and some others. Along with some applied bravery operating heavy equipment, tinkering with softwares. Various other hobbies over the years. I’ve thought of planning, zoning, drafting. In other words: creating perfectly designed communities with nature in mind.
