Introduction: Welcome to Calico Piano Academy! We offer lessons in our inviting Anaheim Hills home studio. Visit the calicopiano website to read more and book an introductory evaluation. My name is Ashley Shahbazi, I offer a patient and comfortable environment for students to thrive while they learn valuable skills handed down from my years of experience and conservatory education. As I am a lifelong student and performer, I provide a unique student-teacher relationship to bring the best out of each student through a love and appreciation for the craft. I enjoy seeing my students make strides in their abilities while also developing a love for the instrument. -Any age, any skill level from absolute beginner to advanced -My educational background includes: Master of Music degree in piano performance (California State University Long Beach), Master of Arts degree in piano pedagogy (California State University Fullerton) -Lessons cover multiple skills: reading music, music theory, performance, technique, critical listening, improvisation, music history, and variety of repertoire -Lessons are focused on the individual needs and musical interests of the student, at their own pace -Discount offered for referrals

Working with Ashley is the highlight of my week. She’s super nice and takes the online medium and makes it engaging. I feel like I am getting the same amount of learning I or MORE from my previous piano lessons in person, and it’s all from the comfort of my Own home which is convenient. 5 stars!!

Ms. Shahbazi is very patient, understanding, and skilled at teaching piano. I would recommend her for student support of all ages! She gave me a lesson while she studied at Chapman University and gave a lot of good tips about fundamentals and the piece we worked on.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will gauge where the student is at in terms of experience, and talk through goals and interests in music. We can delve in to the playing if the student is comfortable, and come out of the lesson with practical goals and assignment materials for future lessons.
