We feel so fortunate to have had Reverend Rhina Ramos officiate our wedding ceremony, and make it such a special event. She took time to learn about our relationship and personalize the ceremony to meet our needs and hopes. She really listened to what we shared with her and it was reflected in the beautiful and special ceremony we had. She asked for our thoughts on her draft of the script for the ceremony, and asked for our input on how we'd like to include our friends in the ceremony. She gave us ideas of what we might do, and suggested a poem or song or community prayer. We ended up choosing a poem that we both felt fit with our feelings about love and each other, and had a dear friend of ours read it. The words she used in her ceremony and how she structured the ceremony reflected a deep understanding of our relationship, our community and our perspectives on love and growth. As a queer couple, we wanted someone who understood what it meant for us to marry and to honor the people in our lives who are part of our family. Reverend Ramos is all heart and we are so thankful that she was able to preside over such an important event in our lives.

Rhina officiated our wedding ceremony, and she did and incredible job. She met us in prior to the wedding to go over what we wanted, and I felt like she really did a good job getting to know us as a couple and make our ceremony as personal to us as possible. She was timely and patient while we were running late, and the ceremony was beautiful, impactful, and exactly what we had dreamed of. Rhina has a special connection to the divine and to the community and she has gone out of her way to support us even after the wedding. I am so grateful she has been brought into our lives and that she was a part of our special day

I am ordained minister by the United Church of Christ. I hold a Masters in Divinity from the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley.
