Elizabeth Givens Dog Training
About this pro
For more than 20 years, I have been offering private in-home dog training; puppy training; and behavior solutions to dog owners in cities across the United States, most recently in Albuquerque and the surrounding areas. I teach "obedience" type skill training; problem solving; and can help correct aggressive behavior; fearful behavior; destructive behavior, anxiety issues and more. I offer behavior assessments and temperament testing and offer the complete Canine Good Citizen program. I am a certified dog trainer, a behavior consultant and a service and therapy dog trainer. I focus on "positive" dog training that puts the safety and comfort of the dogs first. My methods are also science-based and "people-centered", which means I focus on training owners right alongside their dogs. I start with every client by providing an in-person assessment, during which we design an individualized training plan that will help you accomplish your training goals. What I enjoy most about what I do is watching dog owners build stronger bonds with their dogs as they improve their communication and leadership skills. My mission is to help improve the quality of life for dogs and to help build positive partnerships between people and their pets.
Customers rated this pro highly for value, punctuality, and work quality.

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Refund Policy: Fees for training are non refundable once sessions are booked, except in the event of family relocation or long term illness or death of your pet. In these cases, refunds for unused training will be issued within 30 days of written request.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? The first step is always the in-person assessment. This is a meeting with the dog owners and their dog in order to determine the individual training needs. This is a free consultation if clients continue with services after the assessment.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I am a certified dog trainer and behavior consultant; a provider member of the International Association of Assistance Dog Partners, a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, and have a master's degree in behavioral psychology.
