Introduction: Hi there, My name is Keyhan Kamelian and I'm a pianist, music producer and instructor based in Los Angeles, CA. It'd be my pleasure to help you get started or get back into the joy and magic that is playing music and your favorite songs as well as possibly composing a few of your own down the road! With +20 years background in piano performance and composition in various genres such as classical, jazz, and popular music as part of my time at Berklee College of Music, working in the music industry and touring with various artists and bands, my goal is to put together a custom and well-rounded program that not only is based on your learner profile and goals, but goes beyond to ensure your musical & creative growth, unlocking your true potential. I cannot wait to share with you my knowledge and experience as well as helping you with building solid technique, performing dynamically, improving note reading, music theory, ear training, composition and much more. Lessons take place at the North Hollywood, CA home studio, at your location (+ transportation fee) or online over Zoom with a multi-angled pro setup that's as effective as in-person lessons. I'm an older gentleman who always wished and dreamed about playing the piano ever since my teenage years, but due to lack of many things, there was never time to learn it. So, a couple of years ago, I started to take baby steps to learn the music theory and familiarize myself with the black & white keys. There were many many mind struggling days and nights to memorizing and identifying the notes on the paper and the keyboard at the same time to learn to remember to count too I thought my mind is not wired to learn this instrument I am not blessed with the gift of learning to play the piano and that there's no hope for me ever; I was very disappointed. Every day of the week, after a long practice and not getting far with my progress, I wanted to quit, but I continued on. I looked around for a piano teacher and I found Keyhan, I thoroughly believe he is one of the best, with his teaching abilities and professional techniques today with all honesty I can sense my progress, I believe I've learned and progressed so much more with Keyhan's patience and caring teachings and techniques than I learned in last years. I used to dread looking at the piano, but now I look forward to practice and progress. I believe I will reach my potential so much faster than I anticipated, and I'm very happy about that. I thoroughly believe and recommend Keyhan to whoever is struggling out there and wanting to advance, Keyhan is the hope whoever is seeking to learn the piano at whatever level you might be you will learn more with Keyhan than anyone. I enjoyed taking lesson with Keyhan. He is kind, patient and talented. He structures his lesson with a blend of things, depending on your personal goals. My piano playing is intermediate, learned classical then played pop songs by sight. I am excited to have exposure to other genres, and to better understand them!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My process begins with a trial lesson during which I aim to learn about the student's musical background and their objectives when it comes to lessons. I then begin putting together a custom program based on the student's goals in order to maximize efficiency of lessons while keeping them fun and inspiring.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors degree in music production and music arranging from Berklee College of Music. I have also passed Trinity Guildhall grade 8 piano performance examination with distinction. I have 20 years of classical training on piano after which I began mastering other styles such as Jazz and Pop. I have 10 years of gigging and touring experience in the US and internationally with solo artists as well as bands.
