Introduction: I have spent the better part of the last two decades creative directing, designing, and/or illustrating with a specialty in children’s book illustration.
I am well-versed in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, and I also illustrate by hand using a variety of media, including watercolor, colored pencil, ink, acrylic, and more. I am also flexible and easy to work with!
I love taking a germ of an idea and creating a high-impact visual out of it. It is THE most satisfying part of my work-- creating great-looking images and promotions that get noticed.

With Kim, magic happens. She literally made the dream for my first children’s book come true. She is able to work with the most sensitive of storylines and brings characters to life, with an obvious passion for her craft. With Kim, you really feel heard. Every nuanced detail of my vision was incorporated into my custom illustrations, at every step in the process. She is very friendly, professional, fun and accommodating. Kim worked diligently to incorporate feedback and maintain our project’s work flow and reach deadlines, offering very impressive turnaround times. She brought a wealth of experience to the table. Beyond her creativity and keen eye for detail, she also has the necessary technical and editing expertise, along with her insights as a reviewer of children’s literature. As a first-time author, she supported me tremendously with the technical details of layout. Together, we created a final product that is near and dear to both of our hearts. Kim created a number of whimsical illustrations for a children's book that I used as a gift for friends and family. She captured exactly the look that I wanted, and she turned everything around very quickly and professionally. I highly recommend!

If you are looking for professional custom illustrations, Kim MacPherson is the artist you want to hire! She’s right there when you need her and ready to move! I had the burden of updating my educational program, the project required a combination of talented artistry and excellent project management capabilities. When I put my “need for services” out there, within moments, I was taken aback by Kim’s friendly, personable email. I immediately knew she was someone I wanted to hire! She’s a communicator! What relief!
Whenever there was a need to talk, Kim was available. She articulated my needs beautifully and offered insight I never would’ve considered. Kim is friendly, easy to work with and responded to every communication very quickly. I love the style of her artwork! I was working in a very short time frame and she was able to help me out. I would deffinately recomend her for other projects.
