I took 4 lessons with Kris before moving out of town, and I wish I could have taken him with me! I like that now I can pick up a guitar and feel comfortable enough to strum a little song, bc before I started I didn't even know how to hold the guitar right. Definitely a great teacher for beginners... i'd take more lessons if I lived closer!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My standard rate is $50 for a 45-minute lesson which can be scheduled at your convenience. Summer programs run June 5 through July 28 and include a once-a-week option (8 sessions, $360) or a twice-a-week option (16 sessions, $650). I also have 2 spaces left in this Summer's "Young Songwriters" track for more advanced students who want to learn the basics of writing and performing original music. The Songwriters summer program requires a twice-a-week commitment (16 sessions, $800).

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

No two students are exactly alike, so we begin our first lesson with a skills assessment and build a plan based on what you (or your child) actually want to learn. I operate using a "School of Rock" method of learning with a focus on playing songs and reading tabs.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I studied at the Atlanta Institute of Music (now known as the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media) and have more than 10 years experience on acoustic guitar. I also have experience playing electric guitar, harmonica, banjo and drums.
