Introduction: Welcome to Whitken & Co.! We are a small design studio with big dreams based out of our home in Anderson, SC. Our goal is to help you create a beautiful home to live, work, create, play in, and share with others. We love combining modern and traditional elements with vintage finds and a global flair. We are also huge fans of creating spaces for families that are both beautiful and functional. Your home is meant to be lived in! Whitken & Co. started out as a home décor blog in 2015 to share advice, inspiration, and our latest projects. As the blog has grown, so has our vision and dreams for what we’d like to see it become. Our heart behind creating a beautiful home is so that we can share it with others. We’re big on hospitality. This is the south after all! Pulling all the elements of a room or home together can be overwhelming, especially with all the options available online and in stores. We love working with you to take the stress out of decorating and furnishing your home by doing the research and putting a design plan together to help you create a space that you and your family will love coming home to each day.

Whitney, of Whitken and Co., was a delight to work with. She selected a color scheme for a bathroom with difficult existing elements. She considered all existing elements and our preferences, as well. She has experience in current trends and is well studied in traditional design as well. We look forward to having her work with us on design for a new addition and for our bedroom. Whitney is thorough, dependable and dedicated to the task at hand, as well as a pleasure to work with.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We offer both by the hour ($75/hr. 2 hour minimum) and flat rate options depending which option is best for your project.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with an initial consult which takes in your home to discuss ideas, scope of work, style, and budget. Once hired, a design plan is drawn up and products sourced. Once a design plan and products are settled on, work begins to bring your design and home to life. We offer full design services where we design, shop, and install your job for you or we offer DIY design package where we create your design, provide you with a shopping list and sources, and you order and install the design yourself.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am mostly self taught through various online courses, staying updated through magazines, books, and Pinterest, and trial and error. Recently I have started working with a kitchen and bath company and am receiving training through them as well.
