Introduction: Nathaniel Pierce, cellist, tenor, and Artistic Director of the Anchorage Chamber Music Festival has been teaching cello for 12 years and worked with all types of students. He is the graduate student cello instructor at University of Michigan, and maintains a private studio. I try to inspire a love of the craft and deep appreciation for music. I provide the student with a natural technical foundation that is suited to the student. I enjoy helping the students realize their goals as cellists and artists.

I love Nathaniel’s ability to meet my son where he is at, whilst challenging him to improve his skills and technique. My son thoroughly enjoys his weekly lessons.

Nathaniel is a great teacher. I've been learning from him for about a year now and I've learned so much from him and see that he really cares for his students. I would highly recommend Nathaniel to students of any level, beginner, or advanced.

Nathaniel is very in-depth teacher, showing students minute, yet essential aspects of the music that are not apparent initially, which definitely helps the student gain a better understanding of the music. He is also open to questions and conversation within the lesson, which allows the student to clarify concepts with him and ultimately improve more.
