JG Custom Construction Services
About this pro
My wife and I were not real sure how to repair and/or remodel the bathroom. After speaking with JG, in length and receiving a fair estimate, the process was started. We would recommend this company for any project.May 13, 2018VerifiedJim G.'s reply
Morgan, Thank You for your kind words. I look forward to helping with your other bathroom and any other project you might have.
Jim gave me a very competitive quote to rebuild my small deck, install crown molding in 3 rooms and build some shelves in my bathroom. Jim and his carpenter met my expectations perfectly. The deck was built using composite decking materials and it looks so amazing and was built very well. it took a full day to do the deck. The crown molding was done in 2 different styles by the carpenter; one was feathered and the other was perfect angles. Both look terrific after they used a little caulk to seal the joints. It took a full day to do the crown molding and then to build the shelves. Jim and his crew did a wonderful job on all of my projects. They were all very professional, courteous and cleaned up after they were done. I would highly recommend using Custom Construction for any of your construction needs.Jun 9, 2017Verified
Jim is an honest, professional contractor who I would not hesitate to recommend. In fact, I recommended him to both my neighbor and my boss! Seriously, Jim is a no-pressure, on-time and professional kind of contractor that is a rarity today.May 8, 2018Verified
I could only submit that we had hired JG Custom, but we were unable to use this company because the gentleman we spoke with never contacted us again after we called him. He said he would call and come out to look at the job and we never heard from us again. My time is valuable too...don’t waste your time with this guy!Apr 30, 2018VerifiedJim G.'s reply
Pegie, What? I have never talked to you? Who are you? I promise I don't have any record of talking to you. I have a log book that I write down ALL my contacts in. I don't see your name anywhere.
Good communication at first then totally dropped off without letting me know he wasn’t interested in the job.Mar 15, 2018VerifiedJim G.'s reply

I have been waiting on a call from you to tell me you had closed and wanted to do a walk thru. I do apologize for not commuincating with you. But I was waiting on a call from you. If you still need me to help you please call.

- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Meet with them and see what thier project is all about. Listen, and respect thier wishes. I try to give advise if asked. This is thier project, thier renovation, so I pay attention to the details.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Being in the Engineering field all my life, I have learned several different trades. I worked for over 20 years in the electrical industry. During that time I have helped several professionals in thier trade. I have installed numerous HVAC systems in the Chattanooga area. When the economy started faltering, I started working for more steady companies. During that time, I allowed my General Contractor's license laps. I am now in the process of getting these renewed. My license number is #46484. But I don't want to lead anybody in the wrong direction and say that I am licensed until I have it renewed.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?I have done 2 kitchen remodels that stand out the most for me. One of theses was a rather large scale project, for Gina H, consisting of cabinets being enlarged to accommodate newer appliances and new doors, new flooring, the Kitchen Island was given a face lift, new tile flooring, knock down finish on the walls, backsplash, and under counter lighting. Plus a few other features. The second one, had similar upgrades, but was a challenge because I had to get in and get out quickly. The home owner was very surprised and happy with final outcome. I have a picture of it in posted.
