FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is just below the standard custom fab shop rate of $125/hr. I normally charge $100/hr for a job if it is steel or stainless. Aluminum, bronze, copper, and brass cost a little more. The plasma cutter rate is $75/hr (which is a lot lower than any of my competitors).
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I - thank them for contacting me - ask them what their need is - I ask what they are envisioning (if its a fabrication type job) or if something needs to be fixed - I ask if they have all the dimensions (cheaper) or if I need to come out to get them (sometimes neccessary) - Then I send them a quote, they either say yay/nay, I ask for a 35% deposit to cover some of the material cost, and start building - I normally send the customer photos of the work being done and remain in contact with them as the fabrication process proceeds, just in case something changes on their end - I finish build the item, show them some photos, and either bring it to them or they pick it up. Where they pay the other 65% of the invoice.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's degree in Art with a focus in Sculpture Then I worked 8 years in the welding field making my way from welder to Foremen and then Project manager. In 2015, I started my own business and it has been my full-time job since then.
