FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I begin by starting to know the customer better. The stronger the sense of familiarity and trust the student has with the tutor, the more willing and open is the student is to learning. I then do a quick review of past fundamental topics the student should know before he/she moves on to learn new material, and after I am sure the student is well acquainted with the basics, we move on to the next step. I move with the student's pace, to make the student more relaxed about the topic and not feel too rushed.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Back in high school, the counselor asked me to help out some students who were having problems with Math and sciences because I was well versed in those areas and (not to brag) but I had represented my school in different academic competition in those areas. Then back home, my dad once hired me to be my little brother's tutor for the summer.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with students in elementary school up to 12th graders.
