Introduction: Before I design coaching sessions for my clients, I make sure that the drills and exercises I will teach are enjoyable and beneficial for them. In addition, I adapt to their level of experience and age. That way, the client can improve their tennis level and, at the same time, enjoy the lesson. As a college tennis player, I understand the importance of the basics; that is, how to hold the racket, where and how to stand, and basics of tennis in general. Naturally, I also focus on forehand techniques, topspin, slices, serves, overheads, volleys, and more advanced skills that are necessary to become a top tennis player. Lastly, I play points with the clients, regardless of the level. This is the most fun and realistic part of the lesson. What I enjoy the most is to watch how my clients improve with every lesson. My experience with current clients is that after the lessons, they go and win their matches (ALTA matches, High School, Etc.) Watching their tennis improve and watching them winning tournaments makes me proud of the job I have done.

Maya is a great Tennis Coach. She is a very positive and patient person. She helps learn and understand the sport at the same time helps achieve our goals. She mixes techniques while you play. One thing I really like about Maya is she is a kind of person who would go slow and teach you right , rather than rushing to get it over . I highly recommend her without reservation. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first thing I would do is to ask what are the goals the client wants to achieve by playing tennis. Some people play recreationally, as workout, to play in college and/or play at a more competitive level. At the beginning of the first lesson, I would warm up with the new customer for 10 minutes, approximately, to see how he/she plays. Then, I will analyze their game and work on their weaknesses and strength.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been playing tennis for 11 years now, I played tennis in France for 5 years. Right now I study at Brenau University and I play tennis for Brenau women's tennis team.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have prior experience working as an assistant coach at my school, Brenau University. Also, I have been giving private lessons to people from diverse backgrounds and various age groups.
