Hi I am Gregg Sargent and I am the owner of Disaster Cleanup Services. Thank you for considering our company for your cleanup services. I have owned multiple cleanup companies over 17 years in Utah and Colorado. Since every project is completely different, mostly due to the floor plan and materials that are affected we first discuss your project on the phone and then offer a free inspection at your home with an infrared camera and moisture meters. As we discuss your project over the phone I can usually give you an estimate based on the information you give me and then we can help you decide if your project is worth an insurance claim or can be done self pay. If we inspect your home and you decide to do nothing you owe nothing. Over the phone I usually give 3 price ranges for water damage projects. Small projects are $1000-$2000. Medium $2,000-$4,000. Large projects over $4,000. Of course once at your home if the project is less, it would be less and if more they will tell you before they start any work. If you are filling an insurance claim, we work with all insurance companies to make the claims process hassle free, we communicate with your adjuster and bill them not you. All work is documented. I opened my first service company in 1999 since then we have helped over 20,000 clients. I have always enjoyed helping others, cleaning up homes or volunteering in my local community. Most of the time we are contacted when damage has occurred in your home or business or you just need some unwanted dirt out of your carpets and ducts. It is satisfying to be able to help you in your time of need by providing services that keep your home healthy and safe. In my own family I know what it is like to have daily disasters. With 10 children my wife Robyn and I spend plenty of time cleaning. With daily spills, overflowing toilets and mud tracked in on the carpets. We also have multiple children who have asthma and allergy issues. We know how important it is to keep homes safe and clean.

    Everything went very well ( considering the situation I was in). I had very minor water damage from a leaking washing machine hose. I felt like I was in a panic not know exactly what to do. Disaster Cleanup Services came out within 24 hours of contacting them, and the technician I had was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. He showed me exactly where the moisture was, and set out all of my options I had. They have the best customer service around. The only downfall for me was that it was a little pricey. I know that the work done was just a fraction of the cost if I hadn't done anything at all, but still, the equipment rental was comparable to just renting at a home improvement store, and the costs associated with hiring them and having them come back to check for moisture after a few days was about the same price as renting all the equipment. But, overall, it was a great experience and they did a great job getting me through this miserable problem to have.

    Seemed to do a thorough job, but with this kind of service, who can tell. The filter on the hose which catches most of the larger items had very little debris in it. Several freshly painted walls around the vents were soiled from dirty hands to the point that I had to repaint a couple walls. Some of the wall and ceiling vents, which are installed with screws, were scratched and badly bent due to the use of a cordless drill to replace them way too tightly after removal. All in all, simply solidifies my thoughts to not want to bring anyone into my home to perform services.

    The owner of DCS is one of the most honorable people I know. I have done business with him on many occasions and his word is as good as gold. For water / fire damage we use Xactimate pricing for billing. The most used pricing software in the industry accepted by all insurance companies. We also include pictures and moisture readings for your adjuster to see what work was performed. Over the phone or email I generally give three price ranges. Small water damage projects that require equipment and multiple visits are $1,000 - $2,000. Medium which would be multiple rooms is generally $2,000 -$4000. And large projects are generally $4,000 and more for cleanup services. These are clean up prices for water damage projects. If insurance is not involved we can provide you with a free water / fire on site estimate for self pay when needed Self pay price is given before work is performed for your approval. Duct cleaning prices generally range between $199 - $400. Depending on the number of vents and HVAC units. Camera inspection and fogging treatment included if you desire. Fogging is done with a HVAC approved anti-microbial called Benefect (plant based). Completely safe for your home. Learn more about Benefect on line and see for yourself. Carpet cleaning method is truck mount steam cleaning and generally costs 35¢ per square foot and steps are $3.00 each. If you need more than 500 sq feet cleaned price is 30¢ per square foot depending on size. Additional discounts are available when carpet & duct cleaning are performed the same day. Call for additional prices on upholstery, carpet protector, and oriental rug cleaning.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started in the carpet cleaning industry in 1999. Eventually added water damage cleanup, mold remediation and sewer backups in 2005 due to client needs and requests. We since have added fire and smoke damage, asbestos abatement and duct cleaning.
What types of customers have you worked with?
80 % of our clients are residential, but we also do large commercial projects as well. We are available for small 1 room projects to multi level projects.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Most recently though we cleaned up 9 storage units that had suffered from severe fire and smoke damage. Most water damage projects take 3-5 days to perform the cleanup services. Most duct cleaning projects take 2-4 hours. Most carpet cleaning projects take 2.4 hours.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure who ever you choose is licensed, insured, certified, bonded and has experience billing insurance companies if you are making an insurance claim. Also make sure they are using current moisture meters and infrared cameras to ensure a thorough inspection. With duct & carpet cleaning make sure the company you hire is using a proven method and not using any harsh chemicals. For jobs that require tear out make sure the company you hire is following Colorado Regulation 8. Materials that are suspect to asbestos must be tested before removal regardless of the year the home was built. For example drywall and vinyl floor just to mention a few. Also when asbestos or mold is a concern have job protocol written by and Industrial Hygienist. Who can certify the work was done properly. This will ensure a safe and health home and come in handy especially if you go to sell your home. We work with a few local company to certify our work.

What is the time frame for your project? Does the company you are going to hire offer emergency services? What is their rating with the BBB? Will I fill comfortable with their staff in my home? Are they licensed, bonded & insured? What do their past reviews say about them? If insurance is involved do they have experience with billing and insurance adjusters?
