Introduction: Welcome to Paws United. We are a small company that specializes in positive reinforcement dog training. We come to you to help you train your dog. Dog training in your home is a great way to train your dog since it will be one less distraction for you and your pup to worry about since you will be in your own home. We are also doing walk and trains now. This can be done either midday while you’re at work or we can take them for the first 30 minutes and finish up the session together. We offer package deals for training ranging from, "We just got a puppy and haven't had one ever" to "We have been having some issues with our dog that we've had for years and we want to have a better behaved dog". You are also welcome to buy training sessions one at a time based on what you think you need. We can assess the situation at the first session. We are now offering board and trains for a limited number of dogs at a time now.

Elizabeth is extremely helpful. She understands canine behaviors. She explains everything and breaks down training of my dogs to a step-by-step procedure. This is very helpful to me. I worked with Elizabeth about 2.5 years ago. She was great. I had two dachshunds at that time. I had a lot of trouble managing their barking. I had difficulty walking my dogs. They would pull and get overly excited/barking if they saw other people or dogs on the path.. She gave me strategies to implement that were effective. I now have four Dachshunds. I have called on her services again. I highly recommend Elizabeth. She’s an excellent trainer.

Elizabeth is an excellent trainer. She is helping us build skills to better teach our 7 month old Husky some good behaviors and manners. It's only been a week and we've seen much improvement. Elizabeth comes to the house, she's punctual and totally professional. I would recommend her completely.

Elizabeth came to us literally yesterday and I’m not even kidding, I’ve already seen such a massive improvement with our dog. Cash, our rescue had some minor behavioral issues i.e biting, and extreme hyperactivity. After months of trying to train him on my own I was at my wits end and realized I needed help. She is extremely knowledgeable, and taught me a lot about how to move forward with positive reinforcement training. After one hour long session Cash is almost a completely different dog. I knew he had the potential to get there but I was just doing things wrong and Elizabeth gave me all the tools and information I needed to get him there on my own. Not only is she training your dog, but she’s training you as well which is just as important! On top of all of this, she was quick to respond, professional, super friendly, and the cost of the training is good. I highly recommend!!

Elizabeth is awesome! She is very knowledgeable, professional and patient. She was very thorough in working to understand our dog's current lifestyle, needs and behaviors. She explained her recommended training techniques very clearly as well as clearly explained to us why our dog is currently having the behaviors that we are seeking help from a trainer for. The homework she assigned us in between sessions was a realistic amount, and she was very clear about what we needed to do. We will definitely be using her for all of our future training needs!

We have been working with Elizabeth since end of May 2021 and we couldn’t be happier in finding her through ThumbTack. Back in May, our 2 year old corgi met his new house-mate, a 2-month old Highland fold kitten. Elizabeth has done wonders training our corgi who still is a puppy, a herding puppy with tons of energy. Kitty and puppy bump noses now and are doing well with each other! Elizabeth will have a new challenge come August when we bring home a Scottish Fold kitten, the 2nd household kitty. We know our new fur baby will be in good hands given Elizabeth’s expertise. She’s gentle but firm, patient and kind and has been absolutely terrific in training us, the pets’ parents. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We offer a discount when you buy a package from us. We have a wide variety of packages to choose from and they will take the price of an hour long session to $60 down to $50.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I get a new customer I set up a 90 minute long session. This session is 30 minutes of getting to know you and your needs along with your dog and their needs. The other 60 minutes will be used to work with you and your pup on training. This session is critical so I have the opportunity to make a game plan for us and have the best chance of success. This also gives us a chance to meet and see if I am a good fit for you. If you have bought a package and we have our first session and you decide we aren't a good match, you get a refund on the unused sessions and no harm done.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have dog training certification through CATCH Canine Academy. I also have experience shadowing several different types of dog trainers.
