Introduction: Do you or a loved one need beginning acoustic guitar lessons? If so, you are in the right place! I have been gigging as a singer-songwriter/guitarist for nearly 12 years now and teaching for two! In the past two years I have worked with students of all ages (6-75 to be exact!) and all of them are mostly beginners! Some have their own guitars, and those who do not, are more than welcome to borrow one of mine during practice until they have purchased their own. I can guarantee you that I can help you learn the songs you want on the guitar as long as YOU put in the practice outside of lessons!
*Instead of learning to read a music staff, I have found it much easier to teach using guitar tablature! Guitar tablature is a method in which you use your the numbers of fingers: 1-4 + thumb, the name of your strings: E A D G B E and the fret numbers on your guitar: 1-12 (we would go over all of this during our first lesson of course) instead of being intimidated by learning where and what the music notes on a staff actually mean! I have found that students learn quickly and are more engaged when using this approach! With this being said, I will not be teaching you how to read a music staff and will only be teaching you a tiny bit of theory! So if theory and reading a music staff is something you are interested in, I do advise you to please seek a different teacher as there are many teachers that use that approach as well and that is absolutely up to you!
Music is and has always been a huge part of my life and I believe that through music, people (especially children), have a chance to gain a huge amount of self confidence, self discipline, and motivation. I love watching students progress and witness their hard work pay off!
