Melody has many strong personal qualities make her an excellent therapist. On one hand, Melody is an open-minded and empathetic listener, even if your point of view is well outside of her own. She can connect meaningfully with clients of any gender, age and religion. On the other hand, she is a no-nonsense, tell-it-like-it-is straight shooter who cuts through issues and gives valuable feedback. Melody has an infectious energy and I have often been amazed at the scope of her contributions to everyone around her. If you are looking for a therapist, Melody could make a big, positive impact in your life.Jan 27, 2016

Marriage and Relationship Counseling
Melody has been the missing link in my marriage. Her ability to connect and draw out is amazing. She is kind, sincere, and thoroughly equipped to help families and couples. We look forward to building a stronger relationship because of Melody.May 10, 2016Verified
I've had the pleasure to know Melody for a couple of years already. I am usually a very reserved person and don't like disclosing much information about my personal issues. However, I have always felt comfortable opening up to Melody. She is a great listener and has helped me put things in perspective when I needed the most. I am very grateful to have Melody in my life.Jan 27, 2016
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? Methods of Payment I accept cash, check, or major debit/ credit cards, and HSA (health savings account) cards. Insurance/ Private Payment Private payment provides you with the benefits of confidentiality, which I value highly. As an out-of-network provider, I do not bill insurance companies directly but I am happy to provide you with monthly receipts that you can submit for reimbursement. Please ask your insurance company about their out-of-network benefits towards mental health counseling. It may also be important to ask about your deductible.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I offer a 15-minute free phone consultation so we can see if we're a good fit for each other. I take time to listen to the client's issue and ensure that they feel affirmed and understood. Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is my priority. Together, we assess the problem, define measurable goals, and build a therapeutic plan together. The plan has to suit the client's values, beliefs, and lifestyle needs. Next, we get right to work, measure change, and adjust as we make progress.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I obtained my Master's of Arts in Counseling, and am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Texas. I describe my modality as systemic, culturally affirming, relational, and strength-based. I draw from empirically-supported modalities like Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy (PACT), and am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy* by ICEEFT.
