Introduction: As a male relationship therapist, I have an easy way of connecting with both female and male partners. I can be compassionate in my approach and also direct. I know that couples counseling is really about YOU and your relationship…your needs and your desires for change. It is my job to create a safe and nurturing environment to meet the goals we set together. I have extensive training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples which really helps with conflict resolution and re-establishing trust and intimacy. Your relationship does not need to be so hard. And I have practical and effective tools to help you and your partner have more emotional connection, repair faster after conflict and communicate effectively. I really enjoy working with couples. There is no greater feeling for me in counseling than when intimate partners are able to resolve differences, feel emotionally connected and have the relationship they want. There is so much more joy and happiness in this world when our relationships are on a solid footing and working well.

From the beginning, Dean was so welcoming and easy to talk to. He was unbiased and able to help me and my husband figure out how we could resolve our issues. We both felt very comfortable and every visit, we felt like we were getting to a better place. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My process is follows: Start with a free 15-minute conversation on the phone to "get a lay of the land" and answer questions. Then we set up a time for our initial appointment.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Extensive training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples. EMDR trained to help with trauma.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I had a couple come to see me. There had been infidelity. The couple had seen two other couples counselors, and I was their last attempt at saving their marriage. After about one year of consistent work, they had established a secure and trusting relationship!
