Whole house remodel

Working with Bamboo App on our remodel project has been a breathe of fresh air. The use of technology to facilitate the project moving forward while also giving the homeowner oversight into the scope of work, timeline and budget is a true revelation for the industry. I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished product.Apr 5, 2018Verified

Working with them was great and easy! We remodeled the whole living room, kitchen and master bathroom at a much lower price than other contractors. We are very happy with the result! They repainted the whole kitchen, added the statuary white marble countertops, changed appliances, added bamboo flooring throughout the whole living room. The entire master bathroom was tiled with marble, lights were added, mirrors, sinks, cabinets were repainted, we ordered a new tub and a shower - all was installed by the crew. It was a great experience.Mar 19, 2018
It is a different approach, but great Project Manager that walk me thru the process and got a 3D of the what I want before actually building it. Now I am almost done with our home renovation, had a few changes along the way but Bamboo did not charge any Change Order just actual labor hours. Which is great because had quite a few and they where easy to talk to. Another thing they strive themselves with there pay as you go policy, which is really great, no lock in.Jul 21, 2018

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? We operate on a transparent cost plus model in which you can see where every dollar goes. We charge a 25% markup on labor (the same as Uber) and no markup on materials. A carpenter earning $16 per hour net will be charged at $20 per hour to the customer through our platform. With a traditional GC (and subcontractors), that same carpenter would be charged an effective labor rate of around $40 or more per hour. Our hourly rates are the same whether your house costs $200K or $2M+.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? We have four phases: 1. Design - we do a 3D scan of your existing space, then pair you with an interior designer and 3D artist to create a look for the space, similar to what you see on the HGTV shows. 2. Plan - you work with our Construction Ops team and a project manager to create a detailed plan, with tasks, dependencies, time estimates, expected labor rates and materials projections. 3. Build - you and your project manager select the trades you want to work on your remodel. You can change scope as you see fit without needing to negotiate change orders - new tasks get created, and you pay the same hourly rates you already negotiated. 4. Review - everyone reviews everybody. Each individual trade / Pro gets reviews in our process, incentivizing them to do good work.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? Our founding team has built two venture capital backed software companies, and software is a big part of our business. The head of our Construction Ops team has 18 years experience in construction, and is also a licensed architect. Our project managers all have a minimum of 15 years experience in construction.
