My day was starting out hectic, and Crystal made it easy for me to relax on my special day. She arrived earlier than expected to get started on my makeup on my wedding day, which put my mind at ease. Crystal was very professional with the application of all makeup products and was very neat throughout the entire procedure, which is why I hired a make up artist. I knew that if I tried to do my own wedding make up I would have stressed out about it and would have made mistakes, eventually ruining the entire application. Thankfully, I hired Crystal and she listened to all of my concerns and understood very well what type of look I wanted to go with on my wedding day; I am prone to sticking to just one look on other occasions so I knew that I wanted to explore other options on this day. Crystal's products were very clean and it was obvious that she knew what she was doing and how to apply make up very well. I will definitely be hiring Crystal for next up and coming events. Crystal has done my make up for a couple occasions, my favorite look so far has been for a birthday dinner in a smokey eye and bright lip. She is not afraid to be bold and creative, which I loooove. She is a well rounded makeup artist that keeps up with trends but can also execute a classic look flawlessly. I enjoyed that she shared tips with me that inspired me to get more creative with my everyday look. She pays attention to detail, is very nice, and professional. She made me feel and look gorgeous every time, plus all the compliments I received only reinforced that! All my friends have been asking about her because they love her work and I do too! - What is your typical process for working with a new customer?After the client has communicated with me that they'd like to hire me, we then arrange time and location details. I currently work off of the honor system, so I do not require a deposit at this time. I simply collect the total once I arrive to the location. Once I'm set up and the client is ready for their makeup, I ask these two questions: 1) Are you allergic to anything? and 2) What type of skin do you have? (Dry, oily, combination.) Then, I get to work on their makeup application!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I attended a makeup academy in Los Angeles, and successfully completed my courses and received my professional beauty makeup certification. I am also an expert makeup artist for the Los Angeles BeGlammed team, I've worked for the LA IMATS (international makeup artist trade show), and am continuously gaining experience.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I first started doing makeup for my nieces for their proms and formals. I had been doing their makeup and their friend's makeup for three years. I decided to go to a makeup academy to learn how to work professionally as a makeup artist in 2016.
