Maria is amazing and so is her work, she did a beautiful job ony dress and she made me feel so comfortable. She is so sweet and she listened to my thoughts and gave me her professional opinion and we worked together and the final outcome was wonderful. I highly recommend her to anyone you will not be disappointed.

I have used the same tailor that founded Merch for years and years. Being petite, everything I buy has to be altered. When I lost weight, she altered my clothes so that the fit was perfect. A couple of friends highly recommended her and that’s how I found Maria. The quality and workmanship can’t be beat. My clothes have always been ready when she says they’ll be ready never late and when I’ve had wardrobe “emergencies“ Maria has never failed to accommodate me. I would highly recommend her without any reservation whatsoever .

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I ran my own tailor shop for 20 years where we specialized in making dresses for all occasions including weddings, sweet 16s, quinceaneras, etc. Afterwards I worked as pattern maker for Andrew Marc for 2 years and the wedding department for Nordstrom for 6 years where we specialized in alterations for brides and bridesmaids. Today I am starting my own small business to provide customers with personalized assistant to make sure that their clothes fit perfectly for them.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was working as a systems analyst in the 1980s where I took a class on fashion design for fun with some friends. I realized that this was my passion and so I took the bit of money I had saved up and stared my own business. I have never looked back ever since! I love and take pride in my craft.
