We changed everything in our kitchen. Every appliance went, every cabinet and drawer went, the back splash and floor went. We added an island and dimmable lighting under the cabinets. Our problem was we had no definite ideas of what to do or where to place things, so we asked the contractor to get us in touch with an experienced kitchen designer. That is how we came to Linda Blackwood. Linda measured our kitchen and she drew sketch after sketch with ideas. Once we had a general concept we went shopping for appliances, and Linda took those measurements and presented us with 3D depictions of how the kitchen would look. She then assisted with selections of cabinetry, flooring, quartz, and all of the accompanying details. One of the cabinets was damaged in delivery and Linda was able to have a new one sent in time for the contractor to install all of the cabinets. Linda was so valuable in making our dream kitchen come to life, and we have no reservations whatsoever about her involvement.Apr 30, 2018Interiors by Blackwood LLC's reply
Mike, Thanks so much for the fabulous review! Linda
Linda created an awesome design for our kitchen remodel using our existing space. The kitchen far exceeded my expectations and everyone who has seen it has been amazed. Linda was great to work with and highly recommended.Apr 25, 2018Interiors by Blackwood LLC's reply
Thanks so much Jan, I enjoyed working with you!
Linda has been incredible throughout the complete and total renovation of my historic home. I was out of town for a lot of the process and trusted Linda to communicate what needed to happen and she delivered. I recommend her highly.Apr 24, 2018Interiors by Blackwood LLC's reply

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Design Fees are $125 per hour. I ask for a retainer fee before starting design work or giving design advice. The amount of the retainer will vary dependent upon the size of the job, and is credited back to the client on the final invoice.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I always begin with an initial design consultation to discuss a client's goals for the project. I believe each design should reflect the client's taste and lifestyle, so communication is important. During that hour, it is easy to determine if we will feel comfortable working together. The first meeting is also a time to talk about schedule and budget. I provide an estimated amount of hours to complete the job, and we discuss timelines. Then, before starting work, the client and I complete a written contract which spells out the scope of work.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?BFA in Interior Design, Marylhurst University Member, NKBA (National Kitchen and Bath Association), and have earned the AKBD (Associate Kitchen Bath Designer) certification Member, HBA (Home Builders Association), and have earned the designation of a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS)
