- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
All standard (non mini-session) sessions include a detailed pre-session questionnaire + personalized session plan, 45-90 min session (depending on session type) done in-home or a meaningful location of your choice, full collection of high resolution + un-watermarked, web-ready images available via private online gallery within 2 weeks of your session. - What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. initial contact + booking: Once your session date availability is confirmed and your booking fee has been settled (please see investment section of this guide for all payment options), you will receive a comprehensive, pre-session questionnaire. 2. pre-session: After carefully reading over your questionnaire, we will contact you with any clarifying questions we may have and, from there, will draft your photo session plan pdf which will provide a structured yet adaptable guide - including a customized color palette and tips for a successful session - for documenting your family in a way that is authentic to both your vision as well as our artistic aesthetic. 3. the session day The day has arrived! We will meet up at our scheduled location at our scheduled time. we will do our thang for about 90 minutes - be a goof, play some games, have lots of fun, and capture your beautiful family. We will have a blast! 4. post-session Within a week of your session, you may see a sneak peek of a couple images on Icarian’s social media. Your entire (hi-resolution + web-optimized) collection will be carefully processed and available within two weeks from your session date.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Melissa began her photography journey in 1999, after the sudden loss of her mother. Rummaging through her boxes, she cherished the images that were once ubiquitous yet overlooked relics of her childhood. In that moment, Melissa realized that not only were the special occasions and events worth documenting, but also (in fact, more so) the everyday moments with friends and family are the ones worth remembering, and cherishing. In 2015, Melissa launched Icarian Photography. She is obsessed with honest, authentic connection and she strives to portray that with each individual she have the privilege of serving.
