This review is long overdue (wedding was 10.20.17), but I wanted to make sure I shared my experience with Exquisite Weddings & Events! I had decided to plan everything myself to save money (bad idea). About 6 weeks before the wedding I was so stressed out, up to my throat in "things to do." It dawned on me that the only way I could maintain a healthy level of sanity was if I hired a day of coordinator since I had done mostly everything else up to that point. I wasn't able to meet Jill in person until the wedding because I live in San Diego (wedding was in Yosemite). She was very friendly and professional for our consultation call - I immediately felt like I was comfortable working with her long distance and hired her the next day. Let me just say, Jill went above and beyond BEFORE the "day of" that I hired her for. Although I had done a lot (so I thought), there was still so much more to do... thank goodness Jill was there to help me! She tied up loose ends with a couple of the vendors that I had been having a hard time communicating with. She stayed on top of keeping in contact with all my vendors regarding any changes, confirming details, etc. She was even so kind as to loan me a few decorations that I couldn't figure out at the last minute. As soon as Jill got to the cabin on the wedding day, she immediately got to work setting up last minute decorations. I didn't see her again until the ceremony and she did a great job making sure everything ran smoothly. After the ceremony, she went straight to the reception and met all the vendors there to help get everything set up. When the wedding party arrived, it was clear everyone had been taken care of. Needless to say, the rest of the reception was a breeze! I would highly recommend Exquisite Weddings & Events. If I had to do it all over again, the only thing I would change would be to hire Jill as my full time coordinator rather than day of. For the price, it doesn't get any better! Thanks Jill!!

I hired Jill as my day of coordinator for my wedding. Even though most coordinators start work about 2 weeks before your wedding, Jill went above and beyond and started helping me right away almost a year in advance. She was available by phone or text for advice on vendors, logistics, and anything I was worried about. She met with me in person many times before the wedding to go over details and decorations, offered decorations & furniture for me to use on the day of, and got on the phone to whip vendors into shape when they weren't being responsive. On the day of the wedding, we had decided to DIY almost everything. This meant a lot more work for Jill than just making sure vendors were showing up. Jill and her assistant, Ginger, were running around making sure everything got moved from ceremony to reception and they made it happen while the wedding party and guests were enjoying their cocktails and appetizers. To top it all off, one of the groomsman was late which ended up throwing the whole event half an hour behind. Somehow, they were both able to help me bring everything back on schedule before the photographer had to leave, and then they even stayed to make sure everything was cleaned up. Jill wanted to make sure we got the deposit back on the venue and we did! The best part of it all was her attitude in the whole process. She was so friendly and approachable, even when things got rough. After the wedding was over, quite a few of my guests commented on how great and pleasant she was.

I am thrilled to write this long overdue review of Exquisite Weddings & Events! Jill and her team were a pleasure to work with. Jill was extremely organized, honest, showed great attention to detail, and was very helpful thru the entire planning process. In addition, she has amazing relationships with all these wonderful vendors who I completely am happy she recommended them to me. It says a lot when, on such a big day as your wedding, you can put your trust in someone to make everything happen. Our wedding was beautiful & we had a phenomenal time. Nothing would have come together so seamlessly if it weren’t for Jill and her team. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for wedding help!

Day of Coordination Jill and her team was great. From the pre-date meetings to the day of the wedding she was constantly asking me how she could help and had great ideas in problem solving some last minute changes. The whole thing came together better then we could have imagined! Highly recommend!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    I often run special promotions and discounts. However, I have offered payment plans for some of my customers to help them out. Everything really depends on our consultation, the couple's vision and needs, how big the wedding is etc.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    After a completed consultation and my client and I agree to move forward below is Exquisite Weddings & Events policy. Securing your date: A signed contract and 50% nonrefundable and nontransferable retainer is required to secure your event date and began the planning process. The payment for the retainer will be processed when the contract is signed and received. The retainer will be deducted off of your final balance. Your retainer will be non-refundable for reasons including but not limited to; any services rendered, cancellation of the event, date change, change in services, weather, sickness, etc. Payment Policy: Payments may be made by credit/debit cards or your bank account through Paypal. Final balance including any additional aforementioned fees will be due 10 days prior to your event date. Cancellation Policy: Any payments made for retainer are considered non-refundable if the client chooses to cancel an event. Events canceled 60 to 90 days prior to the event date are required to pay 50% of remaining balance due. Events canceled 30 days or less will be responsible for 100% of the remaining balance due. In the event that a planner is unable to perform services for any reason including but not limited to sickness, accident, weather, etc., reasonable accommodations shall be made up to, including a full refund of retainers for services not provided.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

    Do you have my date available? How many weddings have you done? How many weddings have you done that are similar in style and size? Can you provide me with references? Do you have liability insurance? What is your payment process? How many times will you meet with me before the wedding? Are there a certain number of phone calls permitted? How do you communicate with clients? Is it mainly email, phone calls, texting or meetings? How many weddings will you be working on at the same time (day of and throughout the entire process)? What do you need from me before the wedding? How many weddings will you be working on at the same time (day of and throughout the entire process)? What If my event runs late, how much are the overtime fees? Have you worked with any of my other vendors before? Will you provide vendor recommendations? Can I contact you for vendor referrals and other advice before the wedding? Will you set up our personal items at the ceremony and reception? (Guestbook, photos, toasting flutes, cake cutting pieces, favors, escort/place cards, signs, etc.) Will you be at the rehearsal? What is your dress attire? What time will you arrive on my wedding day? What time will you leave? Do you provide an assistant? Is there an extra fee for this? Will you bring an emergency kit?
