FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My regular pricing is based on a 60 minute session MINIMUM, often going over 60, but charging same price. And the number of sessions are determined by need and degree of project on tap. I based my structure in comparison to other tutors in the Oakland County area, and their different fields of study.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A discussion of both the tasks/projects the student is needing to address, as well as the writing process in general. E.g. there may be different approaches for creative fiction or screenwriting than for essay writing, general non-fiction, blogs or business writing.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Before graduating from Michigan State University, I studied writing under Michigan State's screenwriting professor Jim Cash ("Top Gun," "Dick Tracy"), followed by a years-long tutelage under legendary writing teacher (and mentor to his brother Neil) Danny Simon. Starting my career in public relations, I expanded my writing repertoire from press releases and feature stories into journalism & column writing, speeches, op-eds and essays as well as fiction, memoir and screenwriting. I have written over ten film and television screenplays, a memoir and a novella, in addition to other published work listed below, including a weekly column carried by two Detroit area newspapers. Other writing credentials: - Sundance Institute Fellow, 2015 Detroit Screenwriters Intensive - Past contributor to Detroit News, MLive, Oakland Press, Daily Variety, Creative Screenwriting Magazine, USA Today - Past feature columnist for Michigan Chronicle and Gazette Newspapers - Top Ten Finalist, Writers Digest, PAGE International Screenwriting Awards - Young Storytellers Writing Mentor, Los Angeles Public Schools - Currently with multiple film/television projects in Hollywood development
